Possible Teen or E10 Rating for Skyward Sword?

skyward sword bundle pack observation Possible Teen or E10 Rating for Skyward Sword? We know so much now about Skyward Sword such as its release dates (for the United States and Europe) and price but one thing was left unclear to us and that is its rating. If you looked at the box art that was release yesterday you would see that it has “RP” as its rating, this means that the rating of the game is currently pending, but now if you look at the box package for the European region you would see that it has “12 (with an orange background) www.pegi.info Provisional“. PEGI is the rating system for Europe, just like ERSB for America, and showing that on the box brings up this observation. Regardless, the box still shows that the rating is in pending status but that non-highlighted section on the box can give us a clue to Skyward Sword’s rating. Jump inside if you really want to know how this clue can tell us the rating.

If you look at the official PEGI, which stands for Pan European Game Information, website you can see that very number with the same color background there. Now usually games that are rated 12 in Europe tells us that games in the United States will fall under the E10+ or Teen rating. Take a look at Ocarina of Time 3D European and American box art, the remade game has the rating of E10+ in the US but in Europe it has the 12 rating.

Now take a look at Twilight Princess European and American box arts, the game is rated Teen in the United States but in Europe has the same 12, but with a different style, rating as Ocarina of Time 3D.

As you can see from both comparisons they both carry the PEGI rating “12″ but for ERSB one has E10+ and Teen, this means that Skyward Sword could fall under any one of these ratings but seeing that it is a provisional rating it could mean otherwise. I believe that the game will follow Twilight Princess and have a “Teen” rating which will make Skyward Sword the second game in the Zelda series to get a “Teen” rating but if it follows Ocarina of Time 3D it would be the third game, first would be Spirit Tracks, in the series that has a E10+ rating. We will update you guys on the official rating once Nintendo releases it. Remember this is just a provisional rating, meaning that the rating on the box is only temporally until the official one is released but even if it is temporally it can turn permanent.
