What if Skyward Sword had no MotionPlus?

Wii ZeldaSS 2 scrn02 E3 What if Skyward Sword had no MotionPlus? We all know that Skyward Sword is mainly focused on the Wii’s MotionPlus but what if it wasn’t how would the game be? Well according to Eiji Aonuma, that almost happened. According to IGN in an interview with Aonuma he said that Skyward Sword was in development for years with the idea of using MotionPlus, but then he started to wander if this the right move for the next big Zelda console. If you want to know what happened jump inside to read the rest of this story.

According to IGN the game was developed for two or three months without the MotionPlus technology but with the help of Katsuya Eguchi, the developer of Wii Sports Resort, MotionPlus technology was back in the game. The developer stated to Aonuma “Look at all these things you can do with Motion Plus, why wouldn’t you use this in a Zelda game? It would be strange not to!”. Now I think we can all agree that a Zelda game would be great with MotionPlus, where you actually feel like you’re getting into the game.

They even stated that Aonuma’s team wanted to create powerful enemies just for the MotionPlus technology so players can “clash swords with”,

Aonuma-san elaborated, saying his team wanted to create powerful enemies to clash swords with, like Ghiraham, the boss you could fight at this year’s E3. This past year, he and his team were focused on “bringing bigger and bolder swordplay experiences to the game.”

“This last year we’ve been testing those ideas, fleshing them out, and integrating them into the game, bringing the whole package together. Tying all those elements together has been a big part of what we’ve done in the last year,” Aonuma-san said. Judging from the Skyward Sword demos we’ve played, it looks like the extra time has paid off.

So what you guys think the game would be like without MotionPlus?
