In the latest issue of Iwata Asks, Satoru Iwata sat down with Hidemaro Fujibayashi and Eiji Aonuma and discussed the future Legend of Zelda game. The part am going to talk about with you guys is the time frame on which the new Zelda can be created, any Zelda fan would normally think that the game will take 5 years, like Skyward Sword did, to be created. Well this may not be the case with the new Zelda for Iwata wants the game to be created in three years. Jump inside to see the part of the discussion where Iwata gets down to business on this matter.
Aonuma
I really don’t know what to do! (laughs) For the next one,if we will build on the methods we established this time, we might end up getting into a rut.Fujibayashi
That’s difficult. I’m thinking about the next game, too, and I feel like the hurdle is really high.Aonuma
But there is a lot left that we didn’t do this time.Iwata
You have limited time and people, so there’s bound to be something left over. But five years is a long time. (laughs) Can’t you do it in three years next time?Aonuma
Sorry! You’re right! (laughs wryly)Fujibayashi
Sorry, I’ll think of something that can happen in three years!
Nice isn’t it? If this happens we can expect the future Zelda game, either Wii U or 3DS, to be done in just 3 short years (by 2014).
