Aonuma Gives Hints On Zelda Wii U and a Next Zelda for 3DS

In an interview with Eiji Aonuma he gave us the hint, not only on the future Zelda Wii U title but also a Zelda title for the 3DS. According to Aonuma he wants to use the Wii U’s power to his advantage so he and his team can do stuff on a Zelda title that they weren’t able to do before, showing people, through Skyward Sword, how the series can change and evolve. He also stated that the demo that was shown at E3 may not be how the first Zelda Wii U title will be. Jump inside for further details.

“The demo that we showed at E3 was really just more of a rough idea of if all we were to do was to take a Zelda game and put it in HD, this is what it might look like. We’re much more interested in looking at the power of the Wii U system  and seeing how we can take advantage of that power to do things that we haven’t been able to do in a Zelda game before…. One of our goals with [Skyward Sword] is to be the first step in illustrating for people how the Zelda series can change and evolve.”

After the whole discussion on the Zelda Wii U ended, Aonuma was asked about the possibility of creating an original Zelda title for the Nintendo 3DS, he said that he expects to do something “very interesting” on the 3D:

“It will be a game in which having 3D will mean something.”

It seems that there are two Zelda titles in the making, but we won’t hear much about them before Skyward Sword is released so maybe after a while the game is released we may get to hear of these titles.
