Multiple Ganon Theory
Here is the next theory in our timeline series, make sure to check it out and sound off in the comments below!
Alright, some people don’t agree with the Split Time Line Theory. Once again, this is just a theory, opinion, whatever. These theories do not reflect any one’s views here at iZelda, they are just here so you can just gain some insight on the world of The Legend of Zelda. Today’s theory is the Multiple Ganon theory. The multiple Ganon Theory is basically a theory that just says there are more than one Ganon or Ganondorf through all the games, and a different one is present in just about every game. This theory has not been verified by Nintendo and can therefore cannot be taken as fact yet. It is just a theory.
Some big supporting facts for this theory are mostly found in the story of Four Swords Adventures conflicting with The Ocarina of Time Storyline. First off, in Ocarina of Time, Ganon is known only as the King of Gerudo until he obtains the Triforce of Power. From then on, he is known as Ganondorf. In Twilight Princess, he is known as a king of thieves, the thieves most likely being the Gerudo, and launched an attack on Hyrule. This shows that he is still known as a king.
This is totally the opposite of Four Swords Adventures. In Four Swords, the Gerudos talk about a man who grew up with them in the Desert of Doubt. It then says that he took the Trident of Power deep into the desert and gave him tons of powers and that may even mean transforming into Ganon.
There are only three explanations for these conflicting issues. The first is that the Four Swords game is not a real full game and does not put its story line into the main Zelda Time line, although official statements from Nintendo say otherwise. The second is that a single Ganondorf broke the seal at Ocarina of Time, took the Triforce into the desert and thus Four Swords took place before the events of Ocarina of Time. The last is that there is more than one Ganon throughout the whole Zelda Time Line. To this last reason are some pretty supportive reasons. One is that only one Ganon is reincarnated through the whole time line, and the rest are different Ganons. This is also because there would have to be more than one Ganon to account for all of the deaths. This is also supported because Zelda calls the Ganon a demon reborn in Four Swords, this coincides with when Ganon says Link is the Hero of Time reborn in Wind Waker. Although this theory has been yet to gain popularity, it is respected due to the fact that it is straight forward and has fewer flaws then most theories.
Although, Miyamoto has said there is only one Ganon throughout the whole series, this has been deemed as outdated by some due to the fact that he no longer works on the Zelda Franchise Story lines.
