Storyline

When the triforce calls out to Link he is transported to a land called Labrynna. When Link arrives he meets Impa who is searching for the Oracle of Ages, Nayru. When Impa notices the mark of the Tirforce on Link’s hand she tells him where to locate Nayru. She deceives Link into moving the barrier that prevented her from getting to Nayru. When Link moves the barrier Veran comes out of Impa and possesses Nayru who has the power to control time. With Veran in a Nayru’s body she transports self into the past.

Impa tells Link to visit the Labrynna’s guardian, the Maku Tree, to learn how to defeat Veran. However, when Link goes to visit the Maku Tree she is not their. She was attacked by moblins in her past which prevents her from existing in the present. Link must now go back to the past and prevent this from happening. When he successfully does he returns to the present where the Maku Tree tells Link the key to defeating Veran is to get the eight Essences of Time which are scattered throughout time. With the help of Harp of Ages Link can be able to travel through time to get Essences of Time.

Sometime during Link’s adventure he manages to rescue Nayru from Veran at Ambi’s Palace, which is now known as the Black Tower, but when he does Veran possesses Queen Ambi and is able now to complete her Black Tower. As Link collects all the Essences of Time the Maku Tree memory is restored and gives Link the Maku Seed. With the Maku Seed Link can break the curse on the Black Tower. When Link goes to the Black Tower he breaks the curse and confronts Veran. After she is defeated she tells Link that her mission has been complete for the Flame of Sorrow has been lit.
