The new console according to Game Informer it will be able to play games in High Definition (HD). Sources of IGN told them that the new system will surpass Xbox 360 and Play Station 3, even containing 1080p resolutions. It will also have backwards compatibly with all Wii titles, so you can enjoy all your favorite titles in HD. It has also been told that Nintendo plans to release that console to persons late 2012. With all this in store will Nintendo finally be able to gain grasp over the gaming market and get other outside developers to develop games for their system? It seems we will have to wait until E3 to see what Nintendo has plans for us and their new console, the Wii 2. Of course Nintendo has yet to confirm all of this, remember it was the websites sources that confirmed this and not Nintendo.
Edit – April 14th, 2011
We have just gotten to know that their have been rumors that the Wii 2 may even come with a Blu-ray, a mobile projector and also a small HD screen in the remote. This has not yet to be confirmed by Nintendo. There has even been talk that the Wii 2 may even have a Quad-Core Armada processor. Again these features have not yet been confirmed by Nintendo. I guess we will just have to wait until E3 to see what Nintendo is really trying to launch.
